Syllabus Template

Syllabus

Course syllabi must be emailed to Adam Feldman (Academic Dean) no later than 1 month before your first class. This gives the Academic Committee time to revise and fine tune the syllabi before it is approved.

Syllabi must be posted to your course’s page in Populi no later than 2 weeks before the first class.

Feel free to reach out to the Academic Dean if you would like to work on your course objectives, assessments, rubrics, or anything else related to your course.

Syllabus Template

Faculty must use the current MBS syllabus template for their syllabus. Content in “gray” font color can be adapted to each course—all other content must not be adjusted. If in doubt, don’t delete or change material. Click to download the current template.

Sample Assignment Guide / Rubric

Sample Assignment Guide / Rubric

Faculty are encouraged to provide students with clearly articulated expectations for assignments as well as rubrics utilized in grading assignments. Many courses require students to produce Sunday school lessons, Bible studies, or sermons. Therefore, the following guide and rubric are provided to faculty to help bring standardized expectations and grading policies for these assignments. This guide and rubric can also be utilized as a template for other assignments, so please download and adapt them as necessary.

Curriculum Vitae

MBS periodically requires updated CV’s from our faculty. Here is a helpful website that explains how to put together your CV.

Professional Development

Professional developments (PD) are held at Chapelgate Presbyterian Church (Marriottsville, MD) twice a year. You must attend at least 1 PD in order to continue teaching at MBS in the following academic year. PDs are typically held on the Tuesday between the Summer and Fall Terms (i.e. Fall Break) and the Tuesday between the Winter and Spring Terms (i.e. Spring Break). Please consult Populi for this Academic year’s PD topics and dates.
